A Bad Democrat asks why:

Since Hillary Clinton suspended her campaign, I have been called a bad democrat.  Why?  I have issues with Senator Obama and have decided that I will not be able to stomach voting for him.  I can clarify the many reasons why a little later, but for now, I would like to discuss what I personally think is a bad democrat.

What kind of democrat would put his own selfish needs and ambitions above the good of the party they want to lead?  What kind of democrat is so arrogant that they decide they are worth a chance at the White House in a year when the democrats should have won the White House with little resistance?  Barack Obama of course!  And so I ask you, Senator Obama, why?  Where’s the fire?  What’s your hurry?  You are 47 years old.  Your power would have been more productive had you decided to throw your energy, enthusiasm and popularity behind the most electable candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton.  One of the first questions I had is why would anyone, serving only 143 days in the US Senate decide that they needed to run for President of the United States?  The only scenario in which I can imagine myself or anyone I know deciding that is if there were no other contenders or the contenders are all very incompetent and unelectable.  That was not the case in 2008.  The democrats had Hillary Clinton!  She was vetted.  No skeletons in that closet that weren’t very old news.  Really, there was not a lot of ammo in comparison to what the GOP might use against you, Senator Obama.  I’d really like to have you clear this up for me because I have never understood it.  To me, Senator Obama, if you were a good democrat, I would have expected you to get behind Senator Clinton.  You could have stumped for her and also earn for yourself a VP spot.  What a solid victory for the Democratic Party, eight years of President Clinton with Vice President Obama.  Just think of the experience you would have gained!  Just think of the history of the first woman President and black Vice President all on the same ticket.  What an awesome ride that would have been.  Then it would be your turn to run for President!  Amazing that we might have had a 16 year run for the Democrats!  Wouldn’t that have been the best outcome for the party?  Wouldn’t that have been the best outcome for Senator Clinton as well as yourself?  Wouldn’t that have been the best outcome for the country?  Wouldn’t that have been the ultimate democratic victory?  Think about it Senator Obama.  If you are as awesome as you think you are, wouldn’t you be even more awesome with 8 years of experience to show off???  See?  I have been having trouble with this question for months.  What’s your hurry?  I really think that running for President when you are 55 to be very reasonable.  I just don’t understand why that wasn’t going to be soon enough for you?  Is 55 too old?  Do you turn into a pumpkin at 50?  Or did you have to move up to President before Patrick Fitzgerald hands out all of the indictments in the Operation Board Games trial?  If not, then what?  I don’t get it!  I have often said that if there is no good reason for someone’s rise to power there can only be a bad reason for it.  That should explain to you my reluctance to vote for you!

Do you have to rush to the top because after your term in the Senate your record will be so poor that you would never be reelected so it’s better to have no record and sneak into the job now, while you still can?  I, as a democrat, have questions.  That becomes a problem for me and you Senator Obama because you just don’t like to answer questions.  I just keep asking and asking and asking and you just shrug me off.  Probably any of my questions are either beneath you or above your pay grade!

To me, a bad democrat is a person who undermines the direction of the party where they would have easily ruled for years only to risk the unknown.  A bad democrat in my opinion is you, Senator Obama because you are choosing the likelihood of zero years of a democratic administration instead of the 16 years we should have been destined to have.  So Senator Obama, don’t you or allow your supporters to dare to call me a bad democrat.  Take a long, hard look in the mirror, sir and you will then and only then see what is a bad democrat!

This election year sucks!  The love of my life is an Obama supporter.  He has never been strong for Obama.  He was happy with whoever became the nominee, Clinton or Obama.  Earlier this year he thought that Clinton could not win because she was known to be a bitch and had made a lot of enemies.  He thought Obama would win easily due to his popularity.

For reasons I won’t go into here, we had been apart for a few months early in the year and reunited in March.  It was after our state caucus and so we knew we were not on the same side politically, but did not know how bad it would get after Hillary was out.  I wish we had been together in January and February.  I think I could have told him all I knew about Obama and why I’ll never vote for him.  I did not say much because our caucus was passed and there was nothing to be done, I thought.  Plus, I could not see that I would get my man to write letters and emails, etc.  Anyway, now we are at this horrible place of non understanding.  When I speak to him, I do not try to change his vote, as much as I’d like to.  I am just trying to get him to understand my discomfort with many things Obama.  He cannot understand it.  I listen to him and why he thinks  has to win.  I do not try to change his vote.  I just agree with him on what I can, disagree on what I disagree with, and hold my breath until November.  The problem with his reasons to vote for Obama is that blind faith and false image that I know is not there.  He has trouble imagining how I would vote for a republican after the past 8 years and why, even if I hate Obama, I wouldn’t choose the democrat VP just in case something happened to Obama.  I have trouble understanding how he cannot see the con being played.  He cannot see that he is being lied to and he cannot see that Obama is a phoney!

The question of the last legs of this election is, how do we talk to Obots?  What is the best way?  Early on I didn’t say much because I was learning what Obama was all about and couldn’t prove too much and really thought it would all come out in the media.  Well, we all know how that went!  So what to do now?  Just continue to disagree and hope enough people vote McCain so that it is a landslide victory?  That could happen because I know very few people who are voting for Obama.  Most are voting McCain and a few are staying home.  Do I give him the onslaught of newspaper and magazine articles and make him mad?  Do we still wait for the media?  will October make it all clear?  Should I just wait until November 5th and then see what happens?  We have seriously almost broken up over this election!  That is just retarded, I know, and so we keep going while at odds.  I truly do not know how to proceed!

What I do know is that come November 5th, one of us is going to be very unhappy.  I have already promised myself that if it is the worst case scenario (I can’t even bring myself to write it, but you know) that I will not blame him for a McCain loss.  I have informed him that I will only accept blame from him if Obama loses by one vote!

What helps is that a few weeks ago my boyfriend informed me that I was right and that Hillary was the more electable candidate.  He doesn’t now think Obama can win.  Phew!  At least he is preparing himself!  I do feel bad though for all the obots who are just following that fantasy image they see and who think the dems are unbeatable after Bush.  I do hope that somehow, someway, someday everyone will find out the truth about Obama.  Then I hope my relationship can quickly get back to normal after this horrible election year!

I am frustrated.  I am tired.  I am sick of being questioned about my decision to vote for McCain.  I am, or should I say was, a democrat and I have to cross party this year.  Am I happy about it?  Hell no!  Will I really do it, many ask?  Hell yes I will!

I understand that there are kool aid drinkers out there.  They think Obama can singlehandedly save the world.  I think if he really wanted to save the world he would not need to be President to do it.  He probably would not want to be President, it would take too much time away from the world.  At least it should.  The job of the President of the United States of America is not to save the world, even if he could.  I do not get where people seem to think that is what we should want the President’s role to be.  In my opinion, we should want the President of the United States to be someone best able to manage our country to keep it strong, safe and free.  We need a country that we all feel we are welcome to live in.  We need to know that the Government wants us to succeed and thrive.  The world then can follow our example.  That is how the President can save the world!

Anyway, most kool aid drinkers do not pay enough attention to what Obama is saying out there.  They are too busy looking for racism or being afraid of McCain and telling you why McCain is GW3 to even pay attention to their own dude.  And I do believe that is his major plan.  Distract and divide and while the infighting is going on, I’ll rob them all and they won’t know what hit them.

Kool aid drinkers, a message I posted in No Quarter comments:

Well, who can trust Obama on taxes? He has flipped on that. He flips everytime somone blinks and so you may have missed it:

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1839372,00.html

I swear that man is a secret republican. He won’t roll back the tax cuts for the rich, which that and the Iraq war is where he is claiming to get the money to pay for all his programs. Yep. Zero from the zero because he won’t be able to pay for it.

First off he can’t pay for stuff without the money from the rich. period. Not to mention if the economy sucks until 2010, those tax cuts will stay in place. You sure gotta hope Obama puts it on his calendar or something, don’t ya?

Second he can’t pay for stuff from money saved on the Iraq war because oh, well, we’re going deeper into Afghanistan and Pakistan. The money will be needed there.

So, let me ask you. what exactly will Obama accomplish without the money he needs to pay for anything? Just like he’s accomplished so far. Zippo. He’ll just sit with his feet up on the desk and once in a while wave out the window to his adoring fans (if he still has any) like the royal family does. And other than that he’ll watch his friends get rich and the rest of us get poor.

And if you say, well, hell, that article says he is going to cut taxes for the middle class and that’s me, yeah! Well, again, no money for any programs? How will he get stuff done? He won’t.  KIf he cuts your taxes then there is even less money for all his programs.  Duh!

Won’t the next 4 years of staying stagnant be fun?

Arrrrrrrr, Matey’s!

Tomorrow is International Talk like a Pirate Day.  I, for one, am excited to have fun and think about something other than election 2008 for a change.  I do not know how many people know about this great day of wearing an eye patch and drinking some grog, but I keep getting surprised at how many people say they do know when I mention it.

I found out about it at work.  I have some coworkers who like to do silly thing at times.  Once we created an accent which was a blend of things.  We referred to it as our snobby bithcery voices.  It was fun while it lasted because our boss told us that some coworkers were annoyed and we would have to stop it.  By then it was a bad habit, but we did survive and go back to boring work ethics.

Fast forward to some ongoing frustrations at work due to a new computer system and I started saying “Curses!” as a joke so as not to swear.  Well, my coworker, Cheryl, started saying “Arrrrrrr” after I’d do it and we’d giggle and just went into this whole Pirate theme.  One day when I was the only one left in the office at the end of the day, I decided to look up some pirate pics and signs online to print out and put up in my and a couple of others cubicles.  I found some great stuff, but I also came upon the website http://www.talklikeapirate.com/piratehome.html.  I think everyone should check it out and consider wearing an eye patch to work and saying Arrrrrrrr alot.  Also, it’s Friday so you should stop off at the bar for a glass of grog (rum) and maybe at home with the sweetie, throw in a little sexual inuendo:

The Berg Lawsuit

In case you don’t know, Phillip J. Berg (www.obamacrimes.com) has filed a lawsuit alleging that Barack Obama is ineligible to be President.  Prior to the convention, I had high hopes for this.  I can only vote for a democrat if Obama is off the ticket.  I want to vote for my democratic convictions.  I want a candidate I believe in and trust.  It wouldn’t even necessarily have to be Hillary Clinton.  Although in saying that, I can’t imagine under what scenario it would not be her.  It would again be unfair if she were not a replacement if Obama stepped down.  If the democratic party finally grew a brain and took out the loser candidate, I would vote the ticket with the D.  I know that sounds crazy to Obama supporters.

That said, at this point, I am thinking that 2008 is lost.  I am an eternal optimist.  I really am.  I believe that you never give up.  So what would happen at this point with only about 6 weeks left in the election if Obama was out due to the lawsuit or and indictment in Operation board games.  First question, who replaces him?  The genious pick of course is Clinton.  There would be those who would argue it should be Biden.  The problem is would my party be smart?  I don’t see how.  They have not been smart all year.  They had a workhorse and were willing to risk the race on a showhorse who hasn’t run a big race.

I just don’t see how anyone could win this thing now, no matter what this late in the game.

I would love to get feedback on what everyone thinks about the odds of a democratic win if Obama had to be removed as nominee this late in the race!  What do you think?

I have been a democrat all my life, with one exception when I voted for a republican Governor.  In that election, I did vote for who I thought was the better candidate.  He won and I think he did a great job as Governor and I never regretted the choice.

This year I have been on opposing sides from the man I love.  We had dated for a couple years and then we split up for a while.  We got back together in March.  This was unfortunate timing to be on a break because of the election and we are both very political people.  I keep thinking that if we were together the whole time then he’d have a better understanding of what went on and what my thought process was.  It’s funny because when preparing for our first date after our split, I was very nervous.  I wanted to talk politics with him, but also afraid that if the subject came up (because I thought he was probably supporting Obama) that it would be our first and last redate.  Well, it did come up.  He mentioned something and I said, “Oh, here we go, what could be our first and last date.”   Well, no.  It was great.  He supported Obama.  I supported Hillary.  It was a great debate and it was not polarizing.

So fast forward to now.  This is so hard for me.  I have decided that I have to vote for McCain.  John McCain is the one I trust and I cannot make this completely about issues, supreme court justice appointments, or Row vs. Wade.  There is so much more at stake.  The big picture is that things must change.  The primary process must be more fair.  The Democratic party must be stripped bare and rebuilt with leaders who really uphold those issues and values in every way.  I will not set the bar for President this low!  It is ridiculous.

Anyway, my boyfriend is a loyal democrat.  He would never think to vote out of party.  Not ever and not for any reason.  I know this.  We have tried to not talk politics, but of course it’s in our blood.  In the past 3 weeks, we have had some very heated debates.  Yesterday for the first time, although it turns out it has been on both of our minds for a while, we talked about breaking up.  Over Obama and McCain!  My brain says that would be retarded!  That 10 years from now, I’ll have to think, wow, my relationship ended because of Barack Obama or John McCain, but keep in mind I have to blame Obama because this would not even be a problem if Obama was not the nominee.  If it were Hillary or any other of the democratic candidates, we would be together as democrats.

I have had to end a friendship this year, which is something I never thought I would do over politics.  Unfortunately he was a friend who continued to make sexist comments about Sarah Palin and blaming stupid women for the election problems and I had warned him the last time not to do it again.  Sadly once Palin was nominated he became very insulting to me as a woman and we are not friends and will not be ever again.  If I know that he thinks I am stupid because I am a woman, well, then I don’t need friends like that.

How will I get through this with my boyfriend?  I want to believe that this is temporary.  The election will happen and at some point we get past it.  I think about 2000 and I never thought I would get over that stolen election, but I did.  I reminded my boyfriend of that and he agreed, but he sees it very different this time.  The funny thing is that I should be the one who would be the most upset about a con man being in the White House and I have an easier time with him supporting Obama than he has with me supporting McCain.  I realized last night just how much it bothers him that I will risk those Supreme Court appointments and Roe vs. Wade and drilling, and war.  He just cannot understand why I see Obama as a con man when he so clearly doesn’t.  He also sees years of fighting no matter which one is President because one of us will be very unhappy.  This is very hard.

At this point, I would give just about anything for something to happen where Obama is out.  I don’t care what it is.  I guess I need to pray daily for thast Berg lawsuit to shake everything up, but we’re getting down to the wire.

How many relationships have been lost or are in turmoil over election 2008?  I have heard women say that they will not tell their husbands, but will secretly vote McCain in November.  How does that effect the polls?  How many people are not truthful when the pollsters call?  Should I have kept this secret?  Should I lie and say I’ve changed my mind and then vote for McCain and never admit that I did?  I can’t.  I am a woman who speaks her mind.

This makes me think of James Carville and Mary Matalin.  Hmmmmmm.  They make it work.  Can they help?

We will need a poll after the election to see how many loves/friends were lost to this disaster election!

Wow-internet rumor mill!

Today was chock full of rumors if you read many anti-obama blogs!  The fact that McCain is ahead of Obama in all the polls and taking over a few states is causing quite a flurry.  Many of the rumors just make a person want to pull up a chair and grab their popcorn and watch the drama unfold.  The rumors of the day are ones I really hope are not true!

Rumor #1 Biden is preparing to step down due to medical reasons and Hillary will be the VP Pick.

Oh, please no!  I have never wanted Hillary to be VP!  Never.  I think Obama is a crook so why would it matter who his VP pick is?  He is still a crook!  I don’t care if he could get the pope on his ticket (although the pope is pro life so there are many angry dems in that case), it will not make Obama not a crook!

Rumor #2 Clinton gave Obama lots of good advice when they met for lunch yesterday.

Ok, somehow I just don’t think so.  Bill isn’t going to help Obama without a public apology for how he and his wife were treated during the primary!  I certainly hope Bill gave him alot of great advice-wink, wink!  What might he have told Obama?  Hmmmmm.  Maybe he told him to make fun of McCain’s age, or Palin periodically feeling down.  Maybe he told him thta with women all you need to do is tell them what to do and they’ll go along with it.  Time will tell, but I am sure Bill told Obama something, but how helpful it was, well, you can’t convince me of that any more than you could convince me to vote for Obama!

Rumor #3-Palin will step down.

Now this one is funny.  That will not happen!  She has energized the party and McCain and she would step down???  Never gonna happen.  This rumor is just a democrat fantasy!

These rumors are funny and will go on for months no doubt!  These are not to be worried about.  There is enough real stuff out there that you don’t need to make stuff up!
